Overview
This article will demonstrate the Table Wizard tools, including Table Header, Cell, Rows, Columns, Table Style, Cell Background, Vertical Alignment, Cell Style, and Table Properties, which encompass all of the options that are available to you if you want to add/modify a table in a text field.
The Table Wizard also has options to Remove Table and add Breaks.
Table Header
- Table Header: Inserts a gray Header cell above each column
Cell
- Merge Cells: Merges all selected cells into a single cell
- Vertical Split: Splits cells vertically into two columns
- Horizontal Split: Splits cells horizontally into two rows
Rows
- Insert Row Above: Inserts new row above selected row
- Insert Row Below: Inserts new row below selected row
- Delete Row: Deletes selected row
Columns
- Insert Column Before: Inserts new column before (to the left of) selected column
- Insert Column After: Inserts new column after (to the right of) selected column
- Delete Row: Deletes selected column
Table Style
- Dashed Borders: Changes solid borders to dashed borders around all cells
- Alternate Rows: Changes the background color of alternating rows to gray
- Note: To undo selected style, go to Table Style and click selected style again
Cell Background
- Cell Background: Changes the background color of selected cells
- Note: To reset Background to white, click Clear Formatting (eraser) icon
Vertical Alignment
- Top: Aligns text with the Top of selected cells
- Middle: Aligns text at the Middle of selected cells
- Bottom: Aligns text at the Bottom of selected cells
Horizontal Alignment
- Align Left: Aligns text in the Left of selected cells
- Align Center: Aligns text in the Middle of selected cells
- Align Right: Aligns text in the Right of selected cells
- Align Justify: Justifies text as flush with margins
Cell Style
- Highlight: Places a red Highlight around selected cells
- Thick: Increases border thickness around selected cells
- Note: To undo selected style, go to Cell Style and click selected style again
Table Properties
- Caption Text: Creates a Table Caption centered above the table
- Summary Text: Creates a brief summary of content in the table
- Note: Summary Text is not visible when viewing the table
Break
- Break: Creates a paragraph break before (or after) your table
- Note: Break icon does not appear unless cursor hovers over the top-left or bottom-left corners of your table
Remove Table
- Remove Table: Deletes the table from your Text Field
- Note: Press Ctrl + Z to undo
