Administrators can no longer change the passwords of other users. However, users with Administrator status can send emails prompting users to reset their own passwords. This article will show you how to prompt users to change their passwords as an Administrator.
Important Notes
- You must be an administrator to prompt users to change their passwords.
- Administrators can only reset another user's password from the User Settings page if they have already verified their account and completed the initial setup. If verification and setup are not yet complete, the user will need to request a password reset for themselves using the password reset link on the login page after they enter their email address.
Instructions
- Sign in to your solution if you have not already
- Navigate to the User Menu, then select the Settings option
- Click the User and Global Settings tile
- Click the Users tile
- Click the Edit tool (purple pencil icon) to the right of the name of the user with the password that needs to be changed
- Click the Reset Password button to send an email to the user prompting them to reset their password
- Click the OK button on the popup that appears when your request has been successfully submitted
- The user will receive an email with further instructions and will need to reset their password before their next login
