This article will show you how to approve an item, as well as how to deny or send the item back to a previous approver.
Important Note
You must Start Approvals before approvers can approve or deny the item.
Instructions
- Sign in to your solution if you have not already
- Navigate to the Meetings module
- Select the agenda the desired item is currently on
- Select the desired item
- Navigate to the View menu and select the Item Approvals option from the dropdown list
Note: The default view is Item Fields. - If approval is not yet initiated, click the Start Approvals button
- If approval has already been initiated, click the Initiated button
- To complete an approval, click the Take Action button
- Fill in the Approve Agenda Item fields

What do you want to do?: Choose to Approve, Deny, or Return to Creator
Note: A Return to Approver option will be available if there are previous approvers. - Notify Creator That Agenda Item Content Has Changed: Check this checkbox if you wish to send a notification to the item creator
- Message: Enter an approval message, if desired

What do you want to do?: Choose to Approve, Deny, or Return to Creator
- Click the Save Approval button to submit the item approval
- Your approval will now appear in the Visual Item Timeline
