Pause a Live Stream

You can pause your live stream video and display a custom message on the video player. This helps keep the public informed when an executive or closed session is in place.

 

The local video recording will not stop, only the live stream. You will use this feature when your board or council goes into an executive session during a public meeting, and you want the live-stream watchers to know the public meeting has not yet concluded.

 

 

Instructions

  1. Sign in to the system if you have not already
  2. Navigate to the Events module
    The Events module option in the Agenda and Meeting Management left-hand navigation menu.
  3. Select the desired Event
    An example event tile in the Events module.
  4. Click on the View: Event Details drop-down menu, and select the Live Meeting and Bookmarking option from the drop-down list

  5. Check the Show Pause Message checkbox and add a message in the text box, if desired
    A Show Pause Message checkbox and a message text box that can be used together to display a message on-screen when the stream is paused.
    Note: An event's pause message can be edited regardless of whether the event has been set to "Live" or not.
  6. Click the Pause Stream button to stop the pause stream
    A white, rectangular Pause Stream button that can be clicked to stop the live stream of your event, but not its local recording.
  7. When your Executive/Closed Session is complete, click the Resume Stream button to restart your live stream
    A blue, rectangular Resume Stream button that can be clicked to resume the event live stream after it has been paused.
