This article will show you how to approve Speaking Rights and/or manually grant Speaking Rights. Board Members can request Speaking Rights during a meeting.
Instructions
- Sign in to your solution if you have not already
- Navigate to the Meetings module
- Select the agenda that you wish to add a speaker to
- Click the Go to Minutes button
- Navigate to the Live Meeting section
- Ensure that Allow Board Members to Join is checked to allow members to join and request speaking requests
- Navigate to the View menu and select the Minutes Summary option from the dropdown list
- If there is a request, there will be a Speaker Icon below to the current item or section; select the icon
Note: If the item is not current, select Set Current - View the requests and select an option

Edit: Select to edit information or click Delete Speaker or the X icon to deny speaking request

Delete: Click the trash can icon to delete the speaker and remove the request
Note: This option is not available after you select Call. -
Call: Start the speaking time; this grants the speaking request
Note: The default speaking duration is 3 minutes. -
Reset Timer: Reset the speaker's time

Add Time: Give the speaker additional time

Pause: Pause the speaker's time

Resume: Resume the speaker's time

Resume: Resume the speaker's time

End: End the speaker's time early

Edit: Select to edit information or click Delete Speaker or the X icon to deny speaking request
- When you grant time, a Time Left countdown timer will appear on your Clerk-view screen
Note: The timer will turn red when there are only 30 seconds remaining.
