This article describes how customers with CivicPlus Media can run a YouTube live stream and simultaneously push that stream out through CivicPlus Media.
Important Note
If you are using this option, CivicPlus Media will not be recording your event for future playback.
Requirements
- CivicPlus Media
- YouTube Live
- YouTube Live Channel ID (identification number)
Contact Support first to activate multi-stream functionality. You will need to provide Support the Channel ID for your YouTube Live. You can find this by visiting your YouTube Account. Your unique channel ID will combine special characters, numbers, and letters.
Start and End a YouTube Event Live Stream in CivicPlus Media
- Sign in to the system if you have not already
- Navigate to the Events module
- Select the event you wish to make live
- Click the Stream dropdown and select the YouTube option if it is not one already selected
- Click the Save Changes button to save your stream choice, if applicable
- Click the View menu, and select the Live Meeting and Bookmarking option from the dropdown list
- In the Recording and Streaming section on the right-hand side of the page, click the Set Live button
- The Set Live button will turn into an End Live button, and your meeting will be live to viewers in the Public Portal
- When your meeting is complete, click the End Live button to end the live stream
- Click the OK button on the "We are currently processing the video on demand and it will be available later" popup that appears
Note: CivicPlus Media will not be recording your event for future playback.
